Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov received the US Ambassador to Russia, John Sullivan, in Moscow on Wednesday. The US Embassy said the country remains committed to opening communication channels with the Russian government to promote US interests and reduce the risk of misunderstanding between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov discussed with Ambassador Sullivan a series of issues on bilateral relations, but did not give more details about the meeting.
