S. Korean PM calls for regional efforts to denuclearize N. Korea

South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon on Thursday called for Asian countries' role in persuading North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons and bringing peace to the Korean Peninsula.

In his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan, China, the South Korean Prime Minister said the two Koreas and the United States remain on course for dialogue. He praised China, Japan and Russia's support over the North Korea issue and hoped they continue to play a meaningful role.
