Samsung Thai Nguyen gains US$2 bln in three months

VGP – The total export turnover of Samsung Thai Nguyen Hi-Tech Complex (SEVT) reached nearly US$2 billion after three months of operation.

As of June this year, the company produced 5.4 million products and earned US$2 billion from exporting smartphones and tablets. Around 6 million products are expected to be made at the end of July.

The SEVT, which officially began production on March 10, 2014, is expected to gain the export revenue of US$8 billion this year and US$12 billion by 2015, creating 22,000 jobs.

According to the Viet Nam Customs, as of mid-July 2014, the nations’ export turnover of phones and spare parts reached US$12.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.6%.

Currently, Samsung has poured US$6.85 billion in investment in Viet Nam. The corporation raised the export value from US$245 million in 2009 to US$23.9 billion in 2013. The figure is expected to rise to US$30 billion this year.
