Sao Paulo Forum pays tribute to Fidel Castro, calls for unity

The rally of civilized forces, unity of left-wing parties, and people's movements is the only way to move forward amid current socio-political conditions, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said at the closing ceremony of the 24th Sao Paulo Forum in Havana on Tuesday.

He said that in Cuba, the home of former President Fidel Castro and national hero Jose Marti, there is no place for division or back steps. He reiterated Cuba will never give in its anti-imperialism stance.

This year's Sao Paulo Forum, attended by 625 delegates from 51 countries and 170 organizations, approved 45 decrees on regional political and social issues.
