South Korea, Singapore aim for successful US-North Korea Summit

South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-Hwa and Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan talked on the phone Monday ahead of the June 12 summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

The two agreed that the summit will be a crucial opportunity to denuclearize North Korea and establish peace on the Korean peninsula. Ms. Kang elaborated on Seoul's efforts to establish peace on the Korean peninsula and its preparations for the meeting between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un last month.
