South Korean FM urges effective communication channels with North Korea

South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha stressed the need on Monday for effective communication channels with North Korea.

Ms. Kang said at a forum in Seoul that effective communication should be sought to deliver the international community's united voice to North Korea, saying the 2 Koreas urgently needed military hotlines as well as the reunion of separated families. She said if North Korea participates in the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games and Paralympics in South Korea next year, it would be a good opportunity to resume communications and unify separated families.
