South Korean President praises second DPRK-US summit as “meaningful progress”

South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Friday said the second DPRK-US Summit is part of a process to reach a higher level of agreement, even though no agreement was signed during the meeting. President Moon made the statement at a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the March First Independence Movement.

The president emphasized Seoul's role in bridging the US and DPRK saying they had discussed setting up liaison offices in Pyongyang and Washington, which would be an important step toward normalization of bilateral ties. Mr. Moon expressed high regard for President Trump, who has expressed an optimistic commitment to continuing talks.
