SpaceX launches first military satellite
SpaceX on Sunday successfully launched a rocket carrying a US military navigation satellite, the company's first national security space mission for the US.
The Falcon 9 rocket carrying a 500-million-USD GPS III satellite named SV, built by Lockheed Martin, lifted off from Florida. Four previous scheduled launches last week were canceled due to bad weather or technical issues. SV is said to have a lifespan of 15 years and a 3-time greater accuracy than current satellites.
