State President bids farewell to outgoing Cuban Ambassador

State President Tran Dai Quang hosted a reception for outgoing Cuban Ambassador to Viet Nam Herminio Lopez Diaz on August 28 in Ha Noi.

State President Quang congratulated Ambassador Herminio Lopez Diaz on his successful term in Viet Nam. The host leader also praised the guest for serving as a reliable bridge between Party and State leaders of the two countries.

Mr. Quang affirmed that the bilateral ties are special and exemplary which were nurtured by late President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro and generations of leaders, and people.

The Party, State, and people of Viet Nam always bear in mind the contributions of Leader Fidel to the bilateral ties, the State President asserted.

The host leader expressed his delight to witness the developments in the bilateral ties in which the political relations have been consolidated by regular exchanges of high-ranking delegations; relations between socio-political organizations have been enhanced; commercial and economic cooperation attained positive progresses. Regarding multilateral cooperation, the two countries have worked and supported each other especially at the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

On this occasion, State President Quang congratulated the Cuban people on their great socio-economic achievements attained over the past time especially during the process of updating of the economic model, thus creating new strength for the Cuban revolutionary cause.

In reply, Ambassador Herminio Lopez Diaz conveyed the wishes of the Party, State, and people of Cuba to Vietnamese peers on the occasion of the 72th anniversary of Viet Nam's National Day.

The Ambassador thanked State President Tran Dai Quang for his support for the bilateral ties and pledged to continue sparing no effort to nurture the brotherhood between the two countries./.
