Strengthening communication on Vietnam’s foreign policies

The Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Commission for Education and Communication held an online meeting on  September 29, under the chair of its deputy head Phan Xuan Thuy.

The event drew the attendance of more than 43,000 delegates nationwide.

 

From Hanoi, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, and Head of the municipal Party Committee’s Commission for Education and Communications Bui Huyen Mai attended the meeting.

 

At the meeting, Senior Colonel Vu Huu Kiem, Head of the Communication and Training Department under  the Ministry of National Defense, gave  two dissertations  on Ho Chi Minh sea trail and current situation in the East Sea.

 

He presented an overview of the establishment and development of Ho Chi Minh sea trail through each stage as well as the promotion of the glorious tradition of the trail in the cause of national construction and defense.

 

Stressing the sea trail’s great significance during the resistance war against the U.S., for national salvation, Kiem underlined the necessity to increase communication activities and organize events to mark the 60th anniversary of the launch of the Ho Chi Minh sea trail (October 23, 1961- 2021).

 

The communication campaign should focus on glorious victories, while affirming that Ho Chi Minh sea trail has been a shining symbol of willpower and aspirations for peace and national reunification, he suggested.

 

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Education and Communications Phan Xuan Thuy highly spoke of full participation of the delegates nationwide.

 

He asked Education and Communications Commissions of provinces and cities to focus on seven seven major tasks in October, including strengthening dissemination on the 60th anniversary of the launch of the Ho Chi Minh sea trail in line with guidance of the PCC’s Commission for Education and Communications.

 

Informing that the fourth conference of the twelfth Party Central Committee would take place in the coming time, Thuy urged the localities  to further disseminate the session’s major contents.

 

He asked for stronger communication on effective implementation of socio-economic development plan, state budget collection in three remaining months of 2021, as well as socio-economic plan, national finance, medium-term public investment for 2021-2025 period in accordance with Guidance No. 22-HD/BTGTU dated August 19, 2021 of the PCC’s Education and Communications Commission.

 

Especially, the localities should strengthen communication on their socio-economic achievements amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he noted.

 

Thuy also ordered province-level Education and Communications Commission to continue intensifying external communication work, while disseminating on bilateral and multilateral relations, strategic and comprehensive partnerships of  Vietnam with foreign countries.

 

Especial attention should be paid to conveying the message that Vietnam is always a reliable and responsible friend to the international community. he emphasized, asking for strong communication on  vaccine diplomacy during Vietnam’s fight against COVID-19.

 

According to him, on September 20, the PCC’s Education and Communications Commission issued Guidance No. 24-HD/BTGTU on enhancing communication on the country’s COVID-19 effort, and socio-economic development in new normal.

 

Thuy urged the localities to promote major contents based on the guidance, with the focus on the Party and State’s consistent view of ““fighting the epidemic is like fighting against the enemy”, ” consistently implementing the dual goal of fighting the pandemic, boosting economic development and safeguarding public health”, among others.
