VGP  – Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Deputy Minister of National Defence cu Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army welcomed Air Chief Marshal Treetod Sonjance, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force.

Mr. Ty affirmed the growing ties between the two armies, citing the exchange of visits and information sharing, joint patrols, and search and rescue particularly since 2012 when a memorandum of understanding on defence cooperation was signed.

For his part, Air Chief Marshal Treetod Sonjance agreed with General Ty’s evaluation and informed the latter of the outcome of talks of the Thai delegation with the Vietnamese People’s Air Defence and Air Force.

The two countries’ air forces need to bolster their collaboration as part of efforts to deepen the bilateral defence relations, general Ty suggested.
On March 10, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong received Major General Anipun Kumproh, director of the department for policy and planning under the Thai Defence Ministry.

The both sides agreed that defence cooperation between the two countries has greatly contributed to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
