Thanh Tuyen Festival spotlights national intangible cultural heritages

Vietnam's national intangible cultural heritages are the highlight of the Tuyen Citadel Festival, which opened in Tuyen Quang City on Thursday.

Entitled Tuyen Quang-convergence of quintessence, the festival will feature 11 art troupes from all over Vietnam.

For years, the Tuyen Citadel Festival, held on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, has been an important part of people's lives in Tuyen Quang province.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh said the 2-day festival supports the preservation and development of national cultural heritages.

The combination of entertainment for children and promotion of national intangible cultural heritages creates a special Mid-Autumn Festival for Tuyen Quang province, and Vietnam's northern revolutionary base, said Mr. Binh.

A series of cultural, sports, and tourism activities were held including a Tuyen Quang city Gala Night introducing local cuisine, tourist products, and specialties.
