The US President elect reassures Japan and South Korea of security commitment

US-Japanese relations are of key part of Washington's foreign policy core interest. State Department spokesman Mark Toner told the press on Wednesday that relations will continue following Donald Trump becoming the next US President.

In a telephone conversation on Wednesday, Mr Trump told South Korean President Park Geun Hye that he was committed to a solid and robust defense position to protect its allies, including South Korea.
