Tough actions needed to achieve business climate reform targets

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam chaired a conference on implementing the Resolution on improving business climate and national competitiveness in Hanoi on Friday.

The focus of the government Resolution, the 4th of its kind in 4 consecutive years, is administrative reform and improvement of business environment. Vietnam has jumped in business environment ranking from 91st to 82nd in 2016, the biggest improvement since 2008. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Cung, Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management, said: "Tougher actions, closer coordination, strict leadership of the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers, and proactive engagement of ministers are needed. Only can we be successful, if we work responsibly in the spirit of a facilitating, righteous, and acting government who serves the people.
