Earlier, in the first half of 2014, the shipment of tra fish was unstable following sharp declines in demand from Viet Nam’s two key importers – the EU and the US at 9.5% and 25.2%, respectively.

However, the export of the product to the EU market rebounded vigorously at 24% in the first half of July, raising total earnings to US$ 189.6 million since the beginning of the year. The market also accounted for 21.2% of total export turnover of tra fish, but saw a year-on-year decline of 7.3%.

As of July 17, shipments to other markets like ASEAN, Brazil, and China went up 15.2%; 16.1% and 16.4% respectively. The three markets made up 21.7% of the total export market share./.
