President Nguyen Xuan Phuc said he believes that the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Centre will continue to gain more achievements, contributing to building elite and modern militaries and further promoting Vietnam-Russia friendship. Visiting the Centre in Hanoi on Monday, President Phuc said the facility should be developed into a prestigious science-technology center to help Vietnam fulfil its goal in becoming a developing country with modern-oriented industry by 2030.

“The centre should expand fields of its potential, especially in tropical ecology, marine environments, research on infectious diseases, as well as non-traditional security challenges,” said Mr. Phuc.
