Turkey seeks to ease Qatar tension

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has spoken by phone with the leaders of Qatar, Russia, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia on easing tensions after the Arab powers cut ties with Qatar, accusing it of supporting Islamist militants.

According to a presidential source, the importance of regional peace and stability, and diplomacy and dialogue to decrease the current tension was underlined in the talks.

After talks between Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin called for dialogue and compromise.
