(VOVWORLD) – The Ministry of Planning and Investment has devised two growth scenarios for Vietnam in the second half of 2021.

In the first scenario, the economic growth will be 6% for the whole year provided that the pandemic is curbed in July and there are no virus clusters in industrial parks and no social distancing in major cities and provinces. The growth in the third quarter will reach 6.2% and the fourth quarter 6.5%.

To achieve a 6.5 percent growth rate this year in the second scenario, Vietnam must reach growth of 7% in the third quarter and 7.5% in the fourth quarter provided that the pandemic is controlled in June.

The scenarios are based on Vietnam’s GDP growth of 5.64% in the first half of this year.
