UN ready to set up negotiation in Venezuela

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said Sunday that the UN is ready to bring Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and opposition leader Juan Guaido to a negotiation table if they are willing to.

Last month Guaido named himself Venezuela's temporary President. The US and some 20 EU members, including the UK, Germany, France, and Spain, support Guaido and have called on Maduro to hold a new election. Russia, Cuba, Mexico, and Turkey stand on President Maduro and have called Guaido's plan a coup.
