UN Security Council unanimously condemns North Korea’s missile test

The UN Security Council is unanimous in condemning the ballistic missile test conducted by North Korea on Sunday, said Elbio Rosselli, Uruguayan ambassador to the UN and president of the UN Security Council for the month of May.

Following an emergency meeting on Tuesday in New York, Mr. Roselli told reporters that the Council discussed new sanctions to force Pyongyang to halt its nuclear and missile tests. He called on all countries to fully commit to the 6 North Korean sanction resolutions approved by the Security Council last year.
