UN urges North Korea to comply with international obligations

The UN urged North Korea on Monday to fully comply with its international obligations following its test of a new high-thrust rocket engine over the weekend.

At a daily news briefing, Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, said the UN wants North Korea to comply fully with resolutions of the Security Council, refrain from further provocations, and comply with its international obligations.

The same day, North Korea condemned the Trump administration's starkest warning yet to North Korea. At a press conference in Seoul, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the US policy of "strategic patience" towards Pyongyang is over and the US is now exploring new options, even possible military action.
