USPhilippines military relations remain robust

The US-Philippines military relations remain robust, with both sides committed to their alliance and cooperation on maritime security, counterterrorism, and humanitarian aid, according to the chiefs of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the United States Pacific Command.

The statement was made at the end of a Mutual Defense Board and Security Engagement Board meeting Tuesday, after Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte announced he is reducing military cooperation with Washington and expanding security ties with China and Russia.
