US, China trade war cools down

US President Donald Trump said he will hold off on levying additional tariffs on Chinese goods, after he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the G-20 summit in Japan.

The two leaders agreed to restart trade negotiations, which collapsed in early May. Trump also said he agreed to allow American high-tech companies to sell their equipment, where there's no great national security problem with it, to Chinese company Huawei. In return, Xi agreed to increase purchases of American agriculture goods.

On Saturday Trump said although his meeting with Xi was much better than expectation, he is in no hurry to reach a trade deal. He said on Twitter that things look very good, but quality of the transaction is far more important to him than speed.
