US delays Huawei ban for 90 days

US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said on Monday that the US will delay the Huawei ban for another 90 days, adding that an additional 46 Huawei subsidiaries are added on the entity list of its Bureau of Industry and Security.

Mr. Ross said some of the rural companies are dependent on Huawei, so the US is giving them a little more time to wean themselves off. Ross said an additional 46 subsidiaries of Huawei are being added to the ban list, bringing the list of subsidiaries to more than 100. The ban will end around November 19.

China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said at a regular press conference that China hopes the US will honor its commitment, stop unreasonably oppressing and sanctioning Chinese enterprises. He also suggested the US do more to advance the healthy and steady development of China-US trade.
