US leaves door open for military action against Iran

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Sunday that the US is "considering a full range of options" in response to rising tensions with Iran, including military options.

But he emphasized that President Donald Trump has said that he does not want to go to war. Mr. Pompeo told CBS that he has briefed President Trump several times and will continue to keep him updated. He added that the US can take a variety to restore deterrence. Pompeo's remarks came after two oil tankers were attacked in the Gulf of Oman last Thursday. The US accused Iran of being behind the attacks.
