US President plans to visit UK, France

Buckingham Palace said Tuesday that US President Donald Trump will visit the UK early in June at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

The visit is an opportunity to strengthen US-UK cooperation in trade, investment, security, and defense. Mr. Trump will meet British Prime Minister Theresa May in the Downing Street. On the D-Day on June 6 in World War II, allied forces invaded northern France by beach landings in Normandy.

Following his visit to the UK, Mr. Trump plans to travel to France, where he will meet with President Emmanuel Macron on June 6, the White House said.
