US, South Korea agree to pursue talks with North Korea

US President Donald Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Thursday met in Washington to discuss ways to restart the dialogue to denuclearize North Korea.

In their first meeting since last November, President Moon said the situation on the Korean peninsula has changed significantly since President Trump and North Korean leader met in Singapore last June. He stressed the need to continue talks with Pyongyang. Mr. Trump said he wants to reach a major deal with North Korea on its nuclear weapons programs by maintaining current sanctions against North Korea and continuing his dialogue with leader Kim.
