US: Tariff hikes on Chinese goods remain

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that tariff increases on Chinese goods set to go in place on Sunday will not be delayed.

Tariffs kick in on an additional 125 billion USD in Chinese goods over the weekend, and Trump said that had not been changed.

Earlier this week, the US Trade Representative's office made official its extra 5% tariff on 300 billion USD in Chinese imports and set collection dates of Sept. 1 and Dec. 15, prompting hundreds of US retail, footwear, toy, and technology companies to warn of price hikes.
