US Vice President calls for plan for indentifying North Korea’s weapons
US Vice President Mike Pence said Thursday that President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un need to issue a realizable statement on Pyongyang's nuclear and missile program if the two meet next year.
Mr. Pence told NBC News that at the upcoming summit, it's imperative for the two leaders to work out a plan to identify all North Korean weapons development sites, permit inspections of those sites, and dismantle the nuclear weapons.
Vice President Pence praised North Korea for halting its missile tests, returning American soldiers' remains, and freeing US hostages. He said the US will maintain its sanctions against North Korea until verifiable disarmament has occurred.
