Various activities commemorate 50 years of ‘Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu in the air’ victory

A 4-month thematic exhibit to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ‘Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu in the air’ victory opened Friday morning at the Viet Nam National Museum of History in Hanoi. The exhibit displays documents, photographs, artifacts, and the stories of Hanoi citizens and soldiers during the historic 12 days and nights in December, 1972. The exhibition also documents Hanoi’s development in the 50 years since the ‘Dien Bien Phu in the air’ victory and the evolution of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations and cooperation during Vietnam’s renewal and international integration.

Another exhibition opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday  featuring more than 200 photos, documents, and artifacts which testify to the wise leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, and the solidarity between the army and the people during the 12-day battle which led to the signing of the Paris Peace Accords to end the war in Vietnam.
