Venezuela conducts military drills on Colombian border

Venezuela's armed forces began military drills along the Colombian border on Tuesday amid mutual accusations of interception plots and destabilization.

150,000 troops were deployed in exercises which are scheduled to run until September 28. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said now is the time for protecting national sovereignty and peace, all defense forces are required to stop any invasion of Venezuelan territory. He repeated his earlier accusation that Colombia is plotting to attack his government and military bases.
