Vietnam Airlines was honored as 'World's Leading Cultural Airline' and 'World's Leading Airline- Premium Economy Class' by the World Travel Awards at its grand final ceremony last week.

Graham E Cooke, Founder and President of World Travel Awards, said: I want to extend a well-deserved congratulation to Vietnam Airlines on their success at the 24th annual World Travel Awards. 'World's Leading Cultural Airline' and 'World's Leading Airline- Premium Economy Class' are two prestigious international awards that place Vietnam Airlines firmly at the top of the travel industry. I hope the recognition, both by other airlines and the public, will inspire Vietnam Airlines to aim ever higher in the pursuit of excellence.

Le Hong Ha, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines, said: 'We are very honored to receive two prestigious awards at the same time. Last year we were 'Asia's leading airline - economy class' and 'Asia's leading cultural airline', so this year's awards are definitely a giant leap and a testament to our commitment to bringing the best of Vietnamese culture to the world's most modern aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and the Airbus A350-900. I would like to thank all of our customers for their confidence and our staff for their continuous efforts to achieve the highest level of service quality.

This year, Vietnam Airlines is one of the 20 best premium class airlines in the world according to Skytrax. Premium economy, which offers generous legroom and near-flat reclining seats, is now available on flights to France, the UK, and Germany and will be available on flights to Australia and Japan as of next January. Premium economy class passengers are given priority at check-in, boarding, and luggage receipt and receive a free 30-kg baggage allowance (same as business class). Priority walkways will be offered to passengers at several airports inside and outside Vietnam, beginning in 2018.

Vietnam Airlines' 4-star services are characterized by Vietnamese traditional culture. 'Pho' - a tasty dish served on board, 'Ao dai' a stylish costume worn by the cabin crew, and 'Golden Lotus' - Vietnam's signature logo set the airline apart.

The World Travel Award was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry. The awards are considered the 'Oscars of the Tourism Industry'.
