Vietnam becomes Republic of Korea’s 4th largest trade partner

Two-way trade between Vietnam and South Korea has surged sharply since the countries signed a bilateral free trade agreement in 2015, making Vietnam their 4th largest trade partner.

The Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy reported that bilateral trade hit nearly 60 billion USD over the past 11 months, up 43% against the same period last year.

Vietnam exported to Korea wireless devices, apparel and daily necessities and imported semiconductors, displays, and electronic parts. More than 5,000 Korean businesses are operating in Vietnam including Samsung, LG and Doosan.
