Vietnam becomes world’s second largest lychee exporter

Vietnam has become the second largest exporter of lychees in the world, accounting for 19% of the global market share, according to the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS).

The world's largest exporter was Madagascar. Vietnam is followed by China, Thailand and South Africa.

The quality of Vietnam's lychees is much better than similar products from India and China, an ISHS representative told an international conference on longan and lychee in Hanoi late last week. Vietnamese lychees are available in many countries, including China, the US, Japan, South Korea, Australia and the UK.
