Vietnam, Cambodia strengthen defense cooperation

General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, has praised the visit to Cambodia by a high-ranking Vietnamese military delegation led by General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

At a meeting on Thursday, the two sides agreed to expanded cooperation between the two armies, including the exchange of military delegations and coordination in locating border markers.

General Giang said Vietnam always wants to strengthen the traditional friendship between the two peoples and armies.

The same day, General Giang paid a courtesy call on the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Cambodia's Minister for National Defense.
