Vietnam, Canada look to brighter future of ties

Governor General of Canada David Johnston said he hopes for a bright future of his country's partnership and cooperation with Vietnam while receiving Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Duc Hoa on Thursday in Ottawa.

Welcoming Hoa's appointment as ambassador to Canada at the meeting following his presentation of credentials, Mr. Johnston said he wants the diplomat, with his diplomatic experience in Asia and Europe, to substantially contribute to the bilateral relations.

He also said he is glad at the growth of the Canada-Vietnam ties over the past four decades, especially in people-to-people exchange, development cooperation, trade, and investment.

Ambassador Hoa pledged utmost efforts to fulfill the duties of enhancing mutual understanding, trust, and bilateral connections on the basis of win-win cooperation.
