Vietnam Coffee Day 2017 opens

Vietnam Coffee Day 2017, the first Vietnamese coffee day ever held, opened in Da Lat city on Sunday night, showcasing a new era of development for the Vietnamese coffee industry.

The 3-day festival will include a workshop on the coffee industry in Vietnam and a fair to introduce products from coffee growing areas nationwide and publicize public-private partnership projects.

Le Quoc Doanh, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, said the opening ceremony: In 2016, the Prime Minister agreed to observe December 10 as Vietnam Coffee Day and to add high quality coffee to the list of national products. The first Vietnam Coffee Day aims to promote Vietnamese coffee and create opportunities for partners to meet and sign contracts.

Vietnam is the second largest raw coffee producer, processor and exporter in the world with last year's export turnover reaching 3.3 billion USD.
