The top diplomats of Vietnam and Egypt pledged to expand all-around cooperation between the two countries during a phone call on Monday.

Vietnam’s FM Bui Thanh Son and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Hassan Shoukry agreed to resume exchanges of delegations at all levels, closely coordinate on issues of shared concern, and support each other’s candidacy in international organizations.

Mr. Son asked that the Egypt help Vietnam and the African Union set up formal relations.
