Vietnam Fatherland Front promotes national unity

The Vietnam Fatherland Front President Nguyen Thien Nhan has described the Front's mission as upholding the people's initiatives to build a strong national unity for national development and defense.

In the lead up to the Lunar New Year, Mr. Nhan told VOV that 2016 was a successful year for the organization, which is determined to closely follow the Party's Resolutions and the people's oversight to undertake its mission. He said: "The biggest and most challenging activity was that the Front encouraged the voters to cast their ballots at the 14th National Assembly election to choose the most competent deputies. We also monitored whether the election process was in accordance with law or not. The second activity was a new movement called "All people unite to build new style rural areas and civilized urban areas". It was launched on the basis of 15-year-old movements like "All people unite to build a healthy lifestyle in residential areas" and "Day for the Poor".
