Vietnam, France determined to put Hanoi urban railway line No.3 into operation by 2022

Vietnam and France will work closely to finalize and put into operation the urban railway line No 3 in Hanoi under the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station urban railway line project by the end of next year.

At a meeting with Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung on the sidelines of the Vietnam-France Business Forum in France this week, representatives of French groups involved in the project asked for favorable conditions to soon finalize the Nhon Depot station and urged for the signing of next phases under the project.

Eric Alix, CEO of RATP Smart Systems said, ‘I had a fruitful working meeting with the Minister of Planning and Investment over issues concerning the metro line No 3 in Hanoi and many French contractors want to soon finalize the project. It’s important to strengthen the public transport system, especially in major cities to boost Vietnam’s growth. Vietnam now has many projects in this field which will create new jobs. We’re ready to transfer our know-how and technology to contribute to Vietnam’s development.’

The France-Vietnam Business Forum was held during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to France from November 3rd to November 5th.
