Vietnam, India hold political consultation, strategic dialogue

Recent developments in the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership were reviewed at an online political consultation and strategic dialogue on Friday.

The meeting, co-chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung and Secretary of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs Riva Ganguly Das, discussed progress in the two countries’ relations based on their shared vision for peace, prosperity, and people. The vision was approved by Indian and Vietnamese Prime Ministers at a virtual high-level conference last December and the Action Plan 2021-2023 signed by the two Foreign Ministers.

Participants mapped out future cooperation activities in high-level exchanges and celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and Vietnam next year. The two sides also discussed international issues amid the COVID-19 pandemic and seeking new opportunities for economic recovery.
