Vietnam, Japan boast great cooperation potential: State President

President Tran Dai Quang has said he believes the Japanese Emperor and Empress' visit to Vietnam will mark a historical milestone and open a new chapter in Vietnam-Japan relations, helping strengthen the strategic partnership in all fields.

Mr. Quang made the remark at a recent interview granted to Japanese newspaper Yomiuri on the occasion of the first trip to Vietnam by Japan's Emperor and Empress, which began on Tuesday.

He said Vietnam and Japan share many similarities in culture, and the spirit of self-reliance, adding that the visit is expected to improve Vietnamese people's understanding of the Japanese tradition, culture, religion, and development.

According to President Quang, there's plenty of room for both countries to enhance friendship and cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, ODA provision, high-tech and green agriculture, labor exports, culture, and people exchanges.
