Vietnam, Japan boost bilateral ties

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Kunio Umeda in Hanoi on Thursday to discuss measures to promote cooperation between the two countries.\

Mr. Phuc expressed his thanks to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for inviting him to attend the G20 Summit and visit the country later this month, adding that the trip will be made at a time when the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership is flourishing.

PM Phuc said he hopes the ambassador will help ensure that his upcoming visit to Japan will lift bilateral cooperation to a new height, particularly in economy, trade, and investment.
