Vietnam kicks off “Live fully in Vietnam” campaign to welcome international visitors

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourim (VNAT) has started a new tourism campaign “Live fully in Vietnam” to welcome back international tourists in the “new normal” after nearly 2 years of closure. On Saturday, 204 tourists from the Republic of Korea landed on Phu Quoc island in the southern province of Kien Giang under a “vaccine passport” pilot program.

Addressing the welcome ceremony, VNAT Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh said the reopening of Phu Quoc to international visitors is a new step to revive Vietnam’s tourism industry.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the central province of Quang Nam welcomed nearly 130 visitors from the US, France, the UK, Germany, the Republic of Korea, and Switzerland.

Five key tourist destinations with high vaccination rates have been selected to participate in the campaign. They are Quang Nam province, Ha Long city in Quang Ninh province, the coastal city of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa province, Da Nang city, and Phu Quoc island.
