Vietnam reports 260 infections Sunday noon

 

– In the past 6 hours to 12 noon Sunday, Vietnam recorded 6 imported COVID-19 patients, which were quarantined immediately upon arrival in Kien Giang province, and 254 locally-transmitted cases, mostly in Ho Chi Minh City (213), The remaining 41 community infections included 11 in Binh Duong, 10 in Phu Yen, 5 in Long An, 4 in Binh Dinh, 2 each in Vinh Long, Hai Phong, Bac Giang, and Tay Ninh, and 1 each on Ninh Thuan, Ha Tinh, Tra Vinh. Of the 254 local cases, 240 were detected in quarantine or lockdown zones.

Vietnam reported two COVID-19 deaths Sunday noon, bringing the national fatality tally to 86.

By Sunday noon, Vietnam had 19,570 COVID-19 cases, 7,643 of them recovered. Over 3.8 million people in Vietnam have been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far, with over 218,000 of them having received two shots.
