Vietnam responds to World Milk Day

The Vietnam Dairy Association and Vinamilk have held a festival to celebrate the seventeenth World Milk Day (June 1).

World Milk Day began in 2001 by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to raise public awareness about the importance of milk and milk products in child growth.

A representative from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, Jong Ha Bae: The Vietnamese government has targeted 8 million dollars to subsidize the milk industry. However, the cow farming industry remains on a small scale in Vietnam. We should help farmers to gain market and service access to ensure sustainable industry growth.
