Vietnam, Russia hold fourth defence strategy dialogue
The Vietnamese and Russian ministries of defence held their fourth defence strategy dialogue in Moscow on Monday, affirming that defence cooperation remains a pillar of their relationship.
The event was chaired by Vietnamese Deputy Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh and his Russian counterpart Alexander Vasilyevich Fomin.
The two sides agreed to expand their defence cooperation and make a cooperation plan for 2019 that includes delegation exchanges, personnel training, military techniques, and sharing their experience with UN peacekeeping operations. The two generals drafted a list of joint activities to be held in the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Year 2019 and 2020.
The two agreed that Vietnam-Russia defence cooperation is one of the key factors ensuring regional security, peace, cooperation, and development, and that all disputes should be resolved by peaceful means on the basis of international law.
