A seminar on strengthening the partnership among localities of Vietnam and Russia took place in Hanoi on Wednesday. National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and visiting Chairwoman of Russia's Federal Council Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko agreed that cooperation among Vietnamese and Russian localities plays an important role in strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

Ms Ngan said:"The outcomes of the seminar will be sent to relevant agencies of each country, enabling them to forge closer local cooperation. The Vietnamese National Assembly will do its utmost to create optimal legal conditions for ministries, sectors, localities, organizations and businesses to boost ties in all fields for prosperity and practical benefits of the Vietnamese and Russian people."

Matvienko praised the topic of the seminar and said Vietnam is a destination of Russian tourists. She urged for further cooperation in building tourism infrastructure in Vietnam, and establishing light industrial clusters and agricultural economic zones in Russia.
