Vietnam sends condolences to the Philippines over typhoon Nalgae’s consequences

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Friday sent a message of condolences to Filipino President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos over the losses caused by typhoon Nalgae.

The same day, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son sent a message to his Filipino counterpart Enrique Manalo.

Typhoon Nalgae with a wind speed of 95 kph and the gust speed of 160 kph landed on the Philippines on October 28 causing flooding and landsides in many areas around the Philippines.

 

1.8 million people had to evacuate to safer places. Property losses were estimated at 13 million USD while the agriculture lost more than 22 million USD.

 

The National Natural Disaster Control Agency of the Philippines announced on October 31 that 98 people died and 63 went missing during the storm.
