Vietnam, Timor Leste accelerate signing of visa waiving agreement

Vietnam and Timor Leste have agreed to soon sign a deal on visa exemption for each country's respective diplomatic and official passport holders and establish a joint committee on bilateral cooperation.

The consensus was reached during talks in Hanoi on Monday between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Timor Leste's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Dionisio Babo Soares. Both sides said that agriculture, fisheries and oil and gas should be the mainstays of future cooperation. They pledged to create the best possible conditions for Vietnamese and Timor Leste investors to seek business opportunities in their respective markets.
